Career choices

I was reading a book, when read this: “A very good career choice would be to gravitate toward those activities and to embrace those desires that harmonize with your core intentions, which are freedom and growth—and joy. Make a “career” of living a happy life rather than trying to find work that will produce enough income that you can do things with your money that will then make you happy. When feeling happy is of paramount importance to you—and what you do “for a living” makes you happy—you have found the best of all combinations.”

and then I remember the conversation I had with a coworker. My coworker is a nice person, but when I started hearing bad reviews about this person performance, I put attention to what this person actually does every day. My coworker comes in everyday late and leave by 5pm sharp – giving excuses about coming in late or leaving early… taking the kid to school, nanny leaving early, blah blah. Lame excuses to me, since my mom was a twice divorcee woman and had to work extra hours and well to take the beans back home.

One day, I was talking to his coworker and just there, I without intention, I requested my coworker to do something it was not my responsibility, and then these words came out of my coworker (I want to keep the gender undercover) said that what we do, the core business is lame, not interesting and boring. Then it became evidently… this person is not in love with what we do, then is JOB not JOY…so all made sense…

I am most happy that I am finally in the position that I love what I do, and I do it with JOY!
